  4. Thanks everyone. So much more great stuff to come. In fact, I have a backlog of posts. I tell people if I ran a blog devoted to Lady Gaga I wouldn't be this busy. Houdini lives indeed. :)

    1. Ha! Hard "work" indeed. If only I could get paid for this. :)

  6. Hurrah! Congratulations, John, on keeping this blog going for the last 2 3/4 years! It's always been a pleasure to see this very active blog keep chugging along with fascinating updates after new discoveries after breakings news, and all that good stuff. :)

I remember back when I first became interested in Houdini, I had to go to Bob King's Houdini Tribute Site to get online info and material I could trust (and it was a gem of a site, for its day). It still kills me that I won a photo from that site, which was signed by the late Marie Blood, and I lost it! I suspect it got tossed out with the recycling once by accident. X-( Ah well... At least the original photo itself was not lost to time. It's kind of a miracle that so many artifacts from Houdini's life and times have survived, no? And it's thanks to that ever-flowing font of knowledge that this blog can continue to educate, fascinate and inspire. Long may this blog be Wild About Harry!

I also appreciate that you give so much of your time and energy to this blog, too. I'm sure that is anything but easy most days! If you want money though [although it would mean more work, alas], maybe you can think up a nice Houdini-related Kickstarter, and then I'm sure we'd all reward you handsomely. :)

    1. Thank you for all the kind words, Beth. What a heartbreaker about the Marie Blood pic. You know, Houdini Tribute is still online. It was pioneer of Houdini websites. Hey, a history of Houdini websites could make a nice blog entry!

This blog actually is easy. It's my relaxation and, as my screenwriting continues to sputter, the outlet for my creative energy. So its a blast, and its especially exciting how people are starting to share their own HH findings here.

I actually do make a little money from this blog. Amazon links, Google ads, and the occasional paid link and donation help the blog pay for itself. I did consider starting a "Send Wild About Harry to England" Kickstarter to fund a trip to the UK to cover the Houdini play. But I'm not sure Kickstarted is there to cover vacations. :p

  7. Haha, well, maybe Kickstarter *could* be a vacation fund. :p Ahh, you're probably right.

And an entry on the history of Houdini websites? Well, why not? (I hadn't checked that Houdini Tribute was still up - glad to know it's still around). :)
