'Houdini's Tour of Australia' released for Kindle

Houdini's Tour of Australia by Leann Richards is now available for the Kindle.

This well-researched 60-page booklet chronicles Houdini’s highly eventful tour of Australia in 1910. It was during this tour that Houdini became the first man ever to fly a plane in Australia; but Richards also examines his Australian theater appearances, bridge jumps, and challenges.

First released in 2006, Houdini's Tour of Australia is now a rare booklet, so this is a great way to have a copy without paying collector prices.

Purchase Houdini's Tour of Australia for Kindle at Amazon.com (U.S.) and Amazon.co.uk (UK).

  1. This is a nice booklet with interesting information. Houdini held back on performing the Milk Can until he was a few weeks into this Australian tour. It was like saving his best for last.

  2. This is a great book that was available as a ebook in 2011. I have had it on my nook for quite some time and highly recommend it.

  4. I have the hard print edition and feel it is far too superficial. There is so much material available on the web, particularly from "TROVE" and other sources that was completely
missed in the research for this booklet.

    1. Was that material around in 2006 when this book was written?

    2. Yes, because I got this booklet when it first came out as I was putting a lecture together on Houdini's Australian connection and concurrently with its purchase was doing my own research.

  5. I went on the TROVE web site. Soooo many articles from the 1909-1910 time period regarding Houdini! Almost looks like they followed Houdinis every move...shows, airplane flights, challenges. Treasure trove of Houdini info.

  6. That site is excellent. It was one of my sources for the Harry Houdin (19th century mimic) e-book I wrote last year.

  7. As you can see here...http://trove.nla.gov.au/general/completedlist TROVE became available in 2009 three years after I wrote the book. My original manuscript was 40,000 words but I had no interested publishers, so I had to cut it to 20,000 words.

Thank you for the kind comments and support of this little publication. I was very ill when I wrote it and appreciate that people are still reading it. I try to keep the price low so that everybody can read about Houdini- Love your blog..

    1. Thank you so much for the comment, Leann. I love your book and I turn to it often when I'm working on anything having to do with HH and Australia.

You should consider self-publishing the 40,000 word version as a new "special edition". :)
