HISTORY offers a day of Houdini and magic, Jan. 20

This Tuesday, January 20, HISTORY will offer up an 8-hour block of Houdini and magic-themed programing. Below is the line-up:

  • 7:00 am - Brad Meltzer's Decoded: Houdini Murdered?
  • 8:00 am - Houdini: Unlocking the Mystery
  • 10:00 am - Houdini, Part I
  • 12:00 pm - Houdini, Part II
  • 1:30 pm - Lost Magic Decoded

This marks the first repeat of Houdini starring Adrien Brody and Kristen Connolly. The two-part miniseries first aired in September 2014. Tuesday's airing will be HISTORY's edited for TV version. The full unedited version is available on DVD and Blu-ray.

  1. You gotta admire anyone who can watch Brad Meltzer at 7AM!

  2. We are so glad we bowed out of that disaster.
Wish more people would have done the same. We shot a full entire day in New York City. Traveled 5 hours back and forth, did not get a fee, and ended up paying for all expenses. Which is not easy in New York.

Guess What? Worth it not to be seen in this. We came away clean. In our opinion probably the worst Houdini show of all time. Bess murdered Harry! Can any top it?

  3. It keeps being promoted here, yet all three TV offerings are the worst in the "History" of Houdini facts. Please John.

    1. Houdini: Unlocking the Mystery, on other hand, is one of the best. It's an excellent Houdini documentary. Always worth watching.

I wouldn't say I'm really "promoting" the Houdini miniseries at this point. Think we're beyond that. Now, like all the Houdini movies, I'm following it. It may not be good Houdini history, but its existence is now part OF Houdini history, and this first repeat (and the award nominations, etc.) is worth noting, I think.
