Houdini in Milano, October 22-29

A major Houdini exhibition will be part of Expo Milano 2015 in Milan, Italy this month. "Houdini in Milano" marks the first and only Houdini exhibition in Europe. It is being presented by escape artist David Merlini in cooperation with the General Commissioner of Hungary. Below are the details.

The Exhibition
The General Commissioner of Hungary for Expo Milan is proud to invite you to the first and only exhibition in Europe devoted to the Greatest Escape Artist of all time: Hungarian born Harry Houdini.

As a tribute to the legendary artist born in Budapest in 1874, Hungary offers a unique opportunity to experience his timeless magic.

On display are some of the most famous artifacts, handcuffs which once belonged to The Master, as well as some of the original props from the latest USA blockbuster Houdini, starring Oscar Winning actor Adrien Brody.

The Challenge
Visit the exhibition on the first floor of the Hungarian Pavilion, and try to decode the secret Houdini Safe… A special prize awaits you at the Hungarian Pavilion.

Get Your 30 Seconds of Fame
One of Houdini’s most famous escapes, the Chinese Water Torture Cell, has been the symbol of the art of escape for generations, only the bravest escapologists have ever dared to attempt this dangerous creation.

For a limited time of one week only, a real Water Torture Cell with almost one ton of water will be installed in front of the Hungarian Pavilion, awaiting you to experience this extravaganza. 
So bring your swimsuit and bathrobe, and get ready to hold your breath, while we will take an amazing underwater picture of you!

  1. They're offering to dunk visitors in a faux Water Torture Cell for a photo op. I wonder if the visitor has to sign a waiver releasing the exhibitors from any responsibility before getting dunked in the tank. The exhibitors are taking a heck of chance without papers.

  2. Best wishes for a great success.
    I was in Budapest a year ago and David was an unbelievable host.
    He showed me some of the shooting locations for the last HH film as well as visiting the HH birth place.
    A visit to his home overlooking the Danube and the Parliament Building was amazing.
    I realize that the event is almost complete but I encourage all to visit this beautiful city and talk with David. He is someone who is dedicated to keeping HH's memory alive and a guy that you will never forget.
