It's getting spooky...

While preparing my upcoming CFI talk on Houdini Among The Spirits, I noticed something odd in this photo of Houdini at his mother's gave circa 1913. Maybe it's just the amount of time I've been spending with the spirits, or maybe it's the spirit of Halloween, but I see something a little spooky here. Can anyone else spot it?

Hope to see some familiar faces at my lectures this Sunday, October 18th. Below are times and locations.

  1. That is eerie. Is it possible that this photo gave HH the idea for the bust?

  2. BTW, my "ghost photo" here did not impress the scientific and skeptical minds at the CFI, but I think the talks went great. I'll post a short report later today or tomorrow.

  3. While it's true that the Hollywood CFI group noticeably disliked your playful imagination regarding that photo, I'm sure that the extremely hearty and prolonged applause you received at the end of your presentation tells you how well-received it was - a real hit!

    1. Thanks Lisa. Yeah, I was moved by the length of that applause. Actually threw me a little. I thought, "Why aren't they stopping?" And while I made some cuts for the Costa Mesa talk, I left my ghost pic in. They didn't like it either. :p

    2. Yes, the show was a hit! And the "ghost photo" was great! Maybe so great that it challenged their skepticism to an uncomfortable degree...

    3. Curiously, after the Costa Mesa talk a gentlemen said to me, "Of course, spoon bending is real."
