Hocus Pocus #2 conjures Houdini and Rose (and me)

The second issue of Richard Wiseman's best-selling UK comic Hocus Pocus is devoted to spiritualism and features the exploits of Houdini's real life "spook spy" Rose Mackenberg.

The comic that communes with the dead!
Richard Wiseman's best-selling Hocus Pocus is back and this time we delve into the strange world of spirit communication! Join Houdini’s chief investigator, Rose Mackenberg, as she uncovers the secrets of the seance room. Travel through time to discover the trickery used by Fox sisters and the Davenport brothers to fool the world. Uncover the scientists and scoundrels behind the strange history of the Ouija Board. Beautifully illustrated, printed in full colour on heavy card stock, and limited edition.
Illustrated by Jordan Collver, written by Rik Worth and coloured by Owen Watts.

The issue also contains a surprise treat for me personally. Artist Jordan Collver has drawn me in as a cameo getting punched by Houdini during his Washington, D.C. melee. I love it!

You can buy a printed edition of Hocus Pocus or download a FREE copy at hocuspocuscomic.com.

  1. Congrats on the cameo, John. If I was to be slugged by anyone, I would want it to be by Houdini! Just wondering, what role do you play in the comic?

    1. Oh, I don't play any role. It's just this cameo. I'm assuming I'm a crooked medium. :)

    1. Yes, I love that too! Jordan had given me an early look at the art, but it was before the lettering, so this was a surprise to me.

  4. John, Congratulations to you on the cameo! Magic comic collector Mark Horowitz has a cameo in one of the issues, too. I wonder about other? So disappointed that the site says that they are only shipping within the UK. :(

    1. Looks like you can get it here (issue 2, also), and they do say they ship internationally. (I have no connection with this site; I just found it by searching.) https://www.propdog.co.uk/hocus-pocus-richard-wiseman-issue-1
