The Voyages of Patrick Culliton

Here's something special. These three videos by Mike Clark chronicle the story of our great friend and leading Houdini expert Patrick Culliton a.k.a. "Houdini's Ghost." While Patrick's Houdini activities do get a mention, these primarily focus on his acting career and relationship with producer Irwin Allen, especially his time working on Allen's Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. These are very well done and really interesting. Enjoy.

PART I: THE HOLLYWOOD KID
PART II: INCREDIBLE VOYAGES
PART III: TO HELL AND BACK

Thank you, Patrick!

  1. It's always a joy to hear Pat talk about Hollywood. Although he's a life-long actor with many shining Hollywood credits, he's always been a true and unapologetic FAN as well. Most people either DO it, or sit in the seats applauding it. Pat has the rare quality of being an actual participant, yet remaining unquenchably enthusiastic and effusive about it. (Debbie Reynolds is another example of this.) Like most who would be reading John Cox's Houdini blog, I met Pat through his connection to Houdini. But BOY have I loved hearing his observations on Hollywood through the years, and these clips are much appreciated.

    1. Very well said, Lisa! Come for Houdini. Stay for the Hollywood stories. I also love to just hear Patrick talk. A lot of love, wisdom, and gratitude in that man.

  2. I so enjoyed watching this as well. We need to keep these kinds of stories for all to hear and understand how tough show biz still is. Pat is charming as ever and a great speaker..notice ...no ums, ahs...he knows the craft and took us on a "fantastic voyage" of his career. Would love to see one focused on his Houdini facet of his life. Congrats to Mike Clark as well for the production quality.
