Potter & Potter will hold an auction of "Houdiniana" on April 9, 2016. The teaser ad below appears in their current auction catalog for "1001 Magic Tricks - The Collection of Bill King Part II" (February 6).
No word yet on what this auction will include, but if Potter & Potter's last auction of Houdiniana is any indication, expect to see some exciting and historical items cross the auction block.
Thanks to regular reader Leonard Hevia for the tip.

You're welcome John. It's going to be another mondo HH auction. I thought the last Potter & Potter HH auction cleared out the closet. I guess we can expect the usual copies of the Unmasking and more photos, letters, and playbills?
ReplyDeleteI am sure it will be the same old stuff, nothing like ebay just sold......
ReplyDeleteWe should expect letters, photos, film stills, postcards, rare playbills, and maybe even a rare Houdini poster or two that got lost in time.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure we'll also see an assortment of manacles, locks, picks, and straitjackets. Those are essential components of a Houdini auction.
I don't think Potter & Potter would call this a "Houdiniana" auction without having a show stopper or two.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. At least one or two consignors have decided now is the time to unload some extremely rare Houdini artifact locked away in the basement for the last 50 or so years. It will be the The Key (pardon the pun) to a more comfortable retirement.
