Houston Escape Room looking for a new Houdini
If you've always dreamed of being the next Houdini, here's your chance! The Man From Beyond Escape Room in Houston, Texas, is searching for actors to play Houdini and his mediumistic rival Madame Daphne. Details below.
HARRY HOUDINI Age 20s-50s. Must be willing and able to fit in a small space (email for details if needed). Role includes minor stage management/game mastering. Auditions on Monday, July 25 or by appointment. Click for details.

Discover HURRY HOUDINI in Detroit, July 30
A new interactive play, Hurry Houdini, will debut at Midnight Temple in Detroit on Saturday, July 30 at 8pm. The play features Jake Mate as Houdini, Stephanie Stoiko as Bess, and Kristina Camaj as Houdini's fictional manager, Suzi. The show is the creation of Wild Wonder Productions and sounds like a lot of fun! Details below.
Hurry Houdini is an interactive play based in 1922, get your best squad together to compete against all the other teams, you must work together in order to beat Houdinis challenges! Do you have what it takes? ...only time will tell.
If you have a fun competitive spirit, love to dress up and play, and enjoy escape rooms, then Hurry Houdini is the show for you! Come with friends, family, a date or solo!
Hurry Houdini premieres Saturday, July 30, 8pm at Midnight Temple in Eastern Market, Detroit. Tickets are $35. Free glass of champagne with every ticket purchased, cash bar only, dress up in your best roaring 20s attire, enjoy our many raffles to win amazing prizes around metro Detroit! Portions of the proceeds go to Children's Hospital of Michigan.

Following this Detroit performance, Hurry Houdini will go on tour with Armed Forces Entertainment to provide entertainment for the United States military and their families overseas. The troupe will appear in Greenland, Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas, August 3-12. It then heads to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, October 27- November 1, 2022.

Houdini Escape Room at the Winchester Mystery House
The famous Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California, now has a Houdini Escape Room.

In Houdini’s Spirited Escape, you will solve puzzles and search for clues in an immersive themed room. 'Inescapable' opens this week at the Jewish Museum Milwaukee
The traveling exhibition Inescapable The Life and Legacy of Harry Houdini opens this week at the Jewish Museum Milwaukee in Wisconsin. There will be a special Opening Night Preview on Wednesday, September 25 (details below). The exhibition runs through January 5, 2020.

Get a taste of the jaw-dropping magic that made Houdini famous with roving magicians, imbibe a signature Houdini cocktail from the mixologists at Central Standard Distillery, and break out of our specially curated escape room created by Breakout Games. Experience guided tours of Inescapable including information on Houdini’s youth spent in Wisconsin. Tickets and Registration.
Other upcoming events will include a Houdini Halloween Seance on October 31; a lecture on "Houdini and the Cult of Celebrity" by Rick Popp on December 5; and a Christmas Day screening of Houdini (1953). The museum is also hosting a special Houdini "ESCAPE ROOM CHALLENGE" by Breakout Games.

Become immersed in Houdini
A Houdini-themed combination of escape room and immersive theatre is playing at The Silos at Sawyer Yards in Houston, Texas. The Man From Beyond is a 90 minute experience created by Strange Bird Immersive. It opened in January as Houston's first permanent immersive theatre installation.
Madame Daphne cordially invites you to a private séance to contact the spirit of Harry Houdini. But all is not what it seems, and when the ghost appears, things take a dramatic turn. Unravel mysteries a century in the making, and you could find yourselves doing more than escaping a room.

"Houdini's Hidden Workshop"
Here's yet another "escape room" attraction with a Houdini theme. This one is at San Diego's popular Haunted Hotel and is called "Houdini's Hidden Workshop."
You can make reservations for "Houdini's Hidden Workshop" at the Great Room Escape website (be fun to do this with a group of Houdini nuts). And if you still haven't had enough, you can also visit The Great Houdini Escape Room in San Fransisco.

The Great Houdini Escape Room in San Fransisco
The Great Houdini Escape Room is the world’s first “escape room” — built 100 years ago by the escape master himself, Harry Houdini, as a challenge to 8 brilliant innovators, to see if they could escape his contraption filled room within 80 minutes.* These innovators — Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Henry Ford, Charlie Chaplin, John Philip Sousa, William “Buffalo Bill” Cody, Helen Keller, and Luther Burbank — all participated in the Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915 in San Francisco. The room is now open to the general public, available by reservation only.
* This first line may not be exactly true — but let’s pretend it is! The rest IS true.
A visit to to "The Great Houdini Escape Room" is included in one of the Kickstarter premiums for The Official Houdini Seance 2015, which is being held in San Fransicico this year.
