Weber's Bread was founded in 1908. Kudos to the ad agency for using a photo of Houdini from that very year—unless that was just a happy coincidence.
While Weber's bakery went out of business a few years ago, you can still buy bread with the Weber's name and distinctive checkerboard packaging.

DeleteAll I ate as a kid was Wonder Bread. I didn't even know there was any other kind of bread! Haha. I guess it was pretty bad for us. I'm now all about sourdough bread from Trader Joes.

DeleteI'm sure he ate sliced bread. The bread and butter custard he ate for dessert was baked on sliced bread.
