Willem Dafoe's Houdini connections

Actor Willem Dafoe is appearing this weekend in The Old Woman at the Manchester International Festival in the UK. The Robert Wilson/Mikhail Baryshnikov production is running at the historic Palace Theater. Dafoe recently told the Manchester Evening News:

"A venue doesn’t always affect your work, but here’s this kid from Wisconsin, appearing on the same stage trod by the legendary Harry Houdini - what a thrill!"

I never knew this, but Defoe is actually from Houdini's hometown of Appleton!

The Old Woman is at the Palace tonight (July 6) at 7.30pm and tomorrow (July 7) at 2.30pm. Click here for information and tickets.
