Reading the first draft of Houdini (1953)

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting the Motion Picture Academy Library with Diego Domingo and reading several drafts of the Houdini (1953) screenplay, including Philip Yordan's first draft.

I feel like first drafts are when a screenwriter puts his heart into his work, and this first draft of Houdini, while still recognizable as the movie we have today, has some notable differences. Overall, is a very different and much more intense Houdini movie experience. It really got under my skin and is still haunting me today.

This is the kind of thing I share on my Patreon these days, so if you're wild about Houdini (1953), you might enjoy the below.
