I’m at Gate of Heaven right now, marking the sesquicentennial of Bess’ birth. I played “Rosabelle” and the stage patter recording (and made sure not to wear or bring anything yellow). I left this photo and her dates on the gravestone. You can see that someone else had left flowers recently; there were fresh footprints in the snow.A peaceful, cold winter’s day for this special anniversary. Happy 150th, Bessie.
