Houdini at Gallica

Here's a photo of Houdini I've not seen before from the French archival website Gallica. It's a great candid shot that I would date as early 1920s (if taken in France, then it is 1920). Other than that I really don't know what's going on here with that string. But it sure has his attention!

    Nice! Harry looks old, closer to 1926. There's somebody sitting next to him.

      When trying to date a pic, I'll go off his hair rather than his face.

      The age lines on the left side of his face look a lot like the wrinkles from the October 1926 radio broadcast photos. The hair matches as well but a little shorter like a few weeks before the broadcast. He definitely dyed his hair right before the Fall season for his 3 in 1.

      I feel like I have seen one in some pic... But I just looked back on a bunch and, nope, no ring.
