LINK: I was an astrologer – here's how it really works, and why I had to stop

It was 95 years ago today that Houdini resumed his testimony before a Congressional committee in Washington in support of a bill amendment to curtail fortune telling in the District of Columbia. So I thought this was a good day to share this link to an excellent article from the UK's Guardian website. It doesn't have anything to do with Houdini directly, but it's an eye-opening confession and explanation of the type of deception Houdini was battling in D.C.

  1. For those who know, this isn't fanciful writing, but this article is very real-world true...written by someone who has done it, with it and for it. Those who have actually done readings in different venues agree.

  2. I see fortune telling joints all over the Maryland, Washington DC area. Harry didn't make a dent.

  3. A good friend, very much is of the skeptic mode, called me the day psychic medium John Edwards show went nationwide. In exasperation, he said:
"Houdin, Maskelyne, Houdini, Christopher, Randi...all their and other exposes, and still this...nothing's changed."
